All Call to Parents
As you may have heard, our Governor, Mike DeWine, has extended the school closures through May 1st. So at this point, we will be going forward with collecting completed student work and issuing new Instructional Packs for the weeks ahead.
First, for the new assignments, we will be posting a new document with links to each teacher’s Instructional Packs on the Keene page of our district website beginning on Monday, April 6th. The next Instructional Pack to be posted will be for 2 weeks; April 6th - 17th. If your child’s teacher has a Google Classroom, you can also get those new assignments there. If at all possible, please try to access your child’s assignments electronically to limit “person to person” contact.
If you are NOT able to access your child’s new Instructional Pack electronically and you need a paper copy, it is important that you notify your child’s homeroom teacher by Friday, April 3rd. (Teacher emails are posted on our Facebook page and on the Keene page of the district website for your reference.) Some of you may have already been contacted by your child’s teacher regarding this.
We will have 2 opportunities for you to come to Keene to pick up a packet for your child.
The first opportunity will be on Tuesday, April 7th from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
The second opportunity will be on Wednesday, April 8th from noon until 7:00 p.m.
If you cannot pick up your child’s work during either of the scheduled times, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org to let me know. I can put a packet for your child in one of the metal newspaper dispensers located in front of Keene school to the right of the front door. Look for the box labeled for your child’s grade level. I will put your child’s name on the packet. Then you can pick it up anytime.
Second, as far as collecting completed student work, please if at all possible please submit this work electronically to minimize exposure for yourself and our staff. You can even take pictures or scan your child’s work to our teachers’ email addresses. If it is not possible for you to submit your child’s work electronically, you can drop it off at Keene Elementary. Please place the completed work in an envelope with your child’s name and the name of his/her teacher written clearly on the front of the envelope. These envelopes may be placed in one of the 2 PLASTIC newspaper dispensers located outside in front of Keene School on the left hand side of the front door with the buzzer. Work can be deposited in these dispensers at any time.
Students in grades 3-6 will receive a 10% bump up in their grade for the 3rd Nine Weeks if they complete their first instructional packet. So please get those first instructional packets turned in as soon as possible. (Students in grades Kdg - 2 do not get letter grades so this will not apply to them.)
