Who is Teaching your Child

My name is Nancy Dickerson, the students call me Mrs. D.  I am an Intervention Specialist otherwise known as, a special education teacher.  I teach modified 9-12 grade math, language arts, science and social studies curriculum by using life skills development as the focus.  I have been teaching 11 years and was the oldest person in my graduating class to become a teacher at Muskingum University.  In my classroom, I have two Paraprofessionals:  Mrs. Lauvary who attends to the needs of a young man in a wheelchair, and Mrs. Angle who helps the other students in our class.

I became a teacher very late in life, however, I have always worked with and around children, whether at church as a volunteer youth leader/teacher or even as a bus driver/custodian at Coshocton City Schools.  I began my college career at OSU and received an Associates Degree in 1998.  I then transferred to Mt. Vernon Nazarene University graduating with a BBA.  I began working as a teacher substitute for River View Schools at Conesville and Keene.  Mr. Olinger, Mrs. Hawthorne, and Mr. Rinkes were the folks who were instrumental in my decision to go to Muskingum University to earn my Masters in Teaching as an Intervention Specialist for serving the educational needs of students who have Mild to Moderate learning barriers.

I am PROUD to be a BLACK BEAR.  I look forward to working with your student this year!

All work will be in Google Classroom Link
