I received my bachelor of arts in education with minors in psychology and music from Ohio Wesleyan University. I, also, received my endorsements in reading and gifted education at that time. I completed graduate work at Ashland University, the Ohio State University, and the University of Nevada-Las Vegas before completing my master's at Northern Arizona University, including further endorsements in reading and gifted education and a certificate in multi-age teaching. I did additional coursework in administration at NAU.
I have taught in districts in Ohio, Wyoming, and Arizona as well as writing for various educational publishing companies and teaching at several colleges and universities.
From 2014-2017, I split my time teaching elementary art at Union and Warsaw Elementary Schools and coaching the teachers at those schools to meet the needs of their gifted students in their classrooms each day.
With the 2017-2018 school year, I returned to academic classroom teaching, teaching third grade at Union Elementary.
With the closing of Union school in May of 2019, I moved to Warsaw Elementary School to teach sixth grade English and language arts.
