American Government With Mr. Hemming
I have lived in the outskirts of the small community of Clark almost my entire life. My Husband and I live on the property that was owned by his parents for all of his life. We both graduated from West Holmes and have been married for a very long time. We have been blessed with three wonderful children and some children not of our bodies but our hearts. We currently have custody of two little ones through kinship foster parenting. We have grandchildren and are very happy grandparents. Our youngest biological child is a Sophomore at RVHS. Our two littles attend school in the West Holmes District. One is in Kindergarten and the other is in pre-school.
I have a love of history that has propelled me into the career of teaching. I came to the teaching profession later in life and have been joyfully employed by the River View District for my entire career. Previously to being a teacher, I was in the private sector in business and sales. I also had the distinct privilege of being a stay at home mom for the early formative years of our youngest children. A mother is an educator for her children. When the opportunity was available to pursue a second career Education became that dream job. I was lucky to be a sub in the district and pick my ideal district, and then was richly blessed when given the opportunity to work in that "dream" district.
I enjoy spending time with my family. We have a fur baby (Great Dane) by the name of Brutus. We raise crops on our little family farm and have an Apiary. We currently have 21 Beehives and harvest honey. I am not the one in the Bee suit, that is a labor of love for my husband and our daughter. Our daughter in college did the "Bees" as a senior project and turned into a family business. I hughly recommend senior projects for our students at RVHS. Mrs. Hemming does a fabulous job with that program.
One of my favorite leisure activities is riding Harley Davidson motorcycles with my spouse. We really enjoy being in the wind and riding with some dear friends when we are able. Our son also rides and it is time for us to spend with him as well. Our college Sophomore daughter (she graduated from RVHS and participated in the CCP program-so she is technically a Junior in college) also plans to get a an 883 H-D Sporty upon graduation from Marietta College. I guess we would be termed a Harley Davidson family.
