Mr. Eric Bickel

Intervention Specialist English Language Arts

Graduated from Coshocton High School 1993

Graduated Mount Union University 1997

Master's Degree in Education from Muskingum University

17th year of teaching.

I would like to welcome all of you to my web page here at River View High School.  This is my fifth year as an Intervention Specialist at River View High School.  This year I will be once again working in the English regular education classroom for both ninth, tenth, and this year the eleventh grade.  For the 2020-2021 school year, I will once again be co-teaching with Ms. Ferris, and this year Mr. Smoulder in the English Department.

I attended Mount Union University from 1993 to 1997 where I lettered and played four years of football winning two National Championships and four OAC titles. Originally, I started my teaching career after I graduated from Mount Union University in 1997.  At Coshocton, I substituted often in the Intervention Classrooms, this led me to Muskingum College where I worked on my Intervention certification and earned my Master's in Education.  I worked at Coshocton for four years before changing jobs and working for Licking County Educational Services where I headed a Multiple Disabilities classroom at Heath High School.  I spent three years there and then decided to go back into the Intervention classroom at East Knox.   I spent two years at East Knox before I decided to come home to River View where in order to be closer to home and have the chance to work with many excellent students and teachers.

I have a beautiful wife named Jennifer, and we have five amazing and beautiful children; Jordan is a freshman this year at West Virginia State and plays on the volleyball team.  Jalynn is a freshman at Coshocton High School. Kendall, my son, is beginning first-grade at Coshocton Elementary. My beautiful twin girls Kaycee and Keeley, are starting their first year of kindergarten at Coshocton Elementary.

I enjoy working here at River View High School and having the chance to work with so many great colleagues; as well as working with so many amazing students here at RVHS.

Hope that everyone has a great school year.
