I graduated from Massillon Jackson High School in 1976. I played football and ran track for the Polar Bears. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Mount Union in 1981. I played football for 4 years and ran track for 2 years at Mount. I also coached football for three years for The Purple Raiders after graduating from Mount Union. My first teaching experience was at Lexington High School where I taught, coached football, and coached track for one year. My next teaching position was at Groveport Madison High School for 8 years where I was the offensive coordinator in football and head track coach, I taught at Newcomerstown High School for two years where I was the Head football coach. I began teaching at River View in 1995 and have taught in every building in the district. I have coached football and track at the high school. I have taught Science and my current position is as a Physical Education Instructor at RVHS.
