  • Our final CCP meeting will be held on February 21st at 6:30pm in the high school auditorium. Parents or Guardians of any students wanting to take CCP classes next year must attend this meeting. Current CCP students that are wanting to take CCP classes again next year must also have representation at this meeting. This is a yearly requirement to participate in the CCP program. If you have questions please stop in the guidance office.

In this program, chosen high school students throughout Coshocton County meet together monthly to learn about the many facets of our community and its challenges and opportunities for the future, while networking with local leaders. Students must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher, and must be able to attend Opening Retreat, Closing Session and Graduation. These dates, along with the Coshocton County Youth Leadership application, are available in the Guidance office. Applications are due on March 1st.
  • We are having a joint student dress theme for Tuesday's nights game against Coshocton.  Everyone wear blue to support Ava Winner.  Wear as much blue as you can!! Ridgewood did it earlier but not everyone wore blue.  We definitely want to show them up so find a blue tee shirt!
  • Hey Sophomore Students…are you ready for a Life SPINNING Experience?  Well this is your chance, take a spin to the career center on Tuesday evening, February 19, between the hours of 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. for the Student/Parent Information Night—SPIN is for anyone interested in any of the 12 program offerings for your future career.  Come on down with your parents and visit the program of your choosing, get information for next year, meet your instructors, and share with your family the excitement about a possible career choice!  This is a prime opportunity to turn in your application in order to get your first choice for program selection, so take a SPIN on Tuesday evening to the Career Center or call 740-622-0211 for further information and questions!   • The Tri-M Music Honor Society is hosting its 3rd annual soup supper this Thursday night during conferences from 2:30pm-7:00pm.  For just $5 you can enjoy a bowl of delicious homemade soup, cookies and a beverage.  Some of the flavors include: chicken noodle soup, chili, taco soup, chicken and rice, and potato soup.  More flavors will be added. Don't attend meetings on an empty stomach...eat soup!

  • Congratulations to our Black Bear swimmers that competed yesterday at THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY. Everyone swam great! Bringing back medals were Reas Pepper 7th overall 200 Free, Boys 200 Free relay team of Coen Bible,  Brayden Karr, JT Roberts and Reas Pepper 7th overall,  Boys 400 Free Relay Team of Coen Bible,  Brady Philabaum,  Cole Tatro and Reas Pepper placed 6th overall. Congratulations to the entire district qualifying team!!

Students are not to walk to the junior high to get on the bus because they missed it at the high school.  Get your things quickly, and get where you need to be.  

  • Yearbook will be selling winter dance tickets during lunch beginning today. Tickets are $5 per person. Join us for "Lights, Camera, Dance" semi-casual dance on Saturday, February 16 from 7-10pm in the cafeteria. Concessions will be available. Come enjoy good music and have some fun but remember to leave those muddy boots at home!

  • The boys and girls swim teams traveled to Kenyon College Saturday for the South Eastern Ohio Swim League championship meet. They were among 16 teams.  Our ladies finished 4th overall and our boys placed 2nd. Medals were given to top three places in each event.  For the girls,  medal winners include the 200 medley and 200 free relays for the team of Carolyn Cox, Lindsey Ashcraft,  Kyara Roberts and Josie Fornara for both. Individual medals went to Carolyn Cox 3rd 200 IM and 3rd 100 backstroke.  Lindsey Ashcraft 2nd 100 breaststroke and Josie Fornara 3rd 100 butterfly.  Medals for the boys include 2nd place 200 Medley relay of Brady Philabaum, Brayden Karr, Cole Tatro, JT Roberts,  200 free relay of Coen Bible, Karr, Roberts and Reas Pepper and 1st place 400 free relay of Bible, Philabaum,  Tatro, and Pepper. Individual medalists include Philabaum 1st place 100 backstroke,  Pepper 2nd place 200 free. 

    The BEARS travel this Saturday to Steubenville for sectionals.

Students must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher, and must be able to attend Opening Retreat, Closing Session and Graduation. These dates, along with the Coshocton County Youth Leadership application, are available in the Guidance office. Applications are due on March 1st.
  • The Leo club will be taking orders for Valentines Day Flowers this week during the lunch periods! Flowers are $1 for a single flower or $10 for a dozen. Flowers will be delivered on Valentines Day. Money raised will be donated to Pilot Dogs - an organization that raises seeing eye dogs for the blind. Thank you for your support!

  • Freshmen and Sophomores: A list of potential mentors for 8th Grade Transition Day is posted on the Guidance Office window.  If you are not interested in being a possible mentor for Transition Day on February 22, then ask Mrs. Shroyer or a Guidance Office Aid to mark your name off the list.

  • The girls basketball team would like to invite you out to their senior night, February 6th! So come out and show your support!

  • Anyone who is interested in playing outdoor soccer this Spring at Lake Park through SOCCA, may pick up a form in the office and are to be mailed to the address on the registration form. The cost is only $25! Registration Deadline is February 4th.

  • The RVHS Speech Team competed in the District Tournament at Gahanna Lincoln High School on Saturday. Our team of Faith Reeves, Bri Blackstone, Dusty Bassett, and Steven Fabian represented us well! A special congratulations goes to Faith Reeves who qualified for the State Tournament! She will be competing March 1 & 2 at Jackson High School. CONGRATULATIONS, FAITH!!
